Remote Learning 2021

Dear Parents,
A very Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a peaceful and happy Christmas.

We would all like to be back in the classroom at this stage but circumstances have dictated otherwise.  The DES has closed schools at least until the end of January 2021.
We sincerely thank you for your co-operation and prompt collection of books from the school.
Our class teachers, the special education teachers and our special needs assistants are preparing to work remotely with their pupils from Monday.  Online teaching and learning will begin Monday morning January 11th.

We appreciate the enormous challenges facing many of our families and we are there to offer you and your child support with remote learning. The school website will help keep you informed of developments and will provide helpful links to educational websites.

The School Hub is back on RTE and may be worth exploring with your child. Our children’s wellbeing is of utmost importance, so getting outdoors, whether in the garden or going for a walk or a safe cycle will be an essential part of everyday.

We look forward to the reopening of our school when it is safe to do so.
In the meantime stay safe and well.
Kindest regards,

Donat Leahy and Eileen Stapleton.

Learning Platforms
Teachers are using different distance learning platforms depending on the ages of the pupils. Classes from 3rd to 6th are using Google Classroom and younger classes are using Class Dojo.
The approach in Infants will be tailored to meet the needs of the pupils. Class teachers will make contact regarding the platform they are using. Digital Video may be used from time to time for remote learning purposes.
